About Liberty Abstract

Arlene Maynard, President has been involved in the title industry since 1967. The first 10 years as a searcher in Morris, Essex, Union, Bergen, Passaic, and Hudson counties, 3 years thereafter as a manager of the Somerville office of Lawyer's Title, and since 1980 as President of Liberty Abstract. The result is awareness of what our client's love, like never having to wade through automated voice systems to leave voice mail. At Liberty Abstract, a live team member always answers the phone, usually a licensed title officer! Liberty Abstract continues today as a family business, and Arlene Maynard has guided the company on a course of controlled growth and exceptional service.

Patricia M. Murphy, Senior Title Officer, has brought efficiency and excellence to new heights with Liberty Abstract since 1992. She is a graduate of Notre Dame and is committed to perfection at every stage. Patricia administers company standards from initial order application to final policy issuance. Company standards include; issuance of amendment letters within the hour, complete processing of new orders on the day received with confirmations to attorney and selection of surveyor if requested, pursuit of back title on behalf of the purchaser's attorney, and production of commitments by requested dead lines. A proactive approach to complex issues such as estates, old mortgages, tax sale certificates, judgments, corporations and partnerships, etc. helps to maximize efficiency. Each transaction receives individual focus so closings can take place on time.

Walter Maynard, Vice President, is an experienced title officer who joined the team in 1989. Walter's life-long exposure to the title searching and title insurance industries have enabled understanding and the ability to resolve complex title issues. Walter has brought a pragmatic and common sense perspective to business management and human resource issues which promote stability.

The Liberty Abstract management style is based on a team approach to production at all stages. Our open operations office permits all title officers and support staff to interact and guide each file from beginning to end, including follow-up of any post-closing issues. The team approach leaves no file dependent on only one staff-member, so our clients can speak with any licensed member of our team for file status. The team approach also permits Liberty Abstract to shift staff time to support seasonal fluctuations and the needs of more complex files. Continued training of all staff members is part of promotion from within that enables the team to maintain a smooth course of advancement.

A responsible, well-trained, dedicated support staff assemble commitments with attention to detail and quality, process orders with scheduling for timely receipt of searches, surveys, and reports for underwriting, and attend to delivery of commitments to the relevant parties. Some support staff are consistently involved with contacting lenders to get prior mortgages cancelled of record. Some staff obtain post closing update searches within a few days of the new documents being recorded and indexed.  These type of services are designed to relieve extraneous workload for the staff of the real estate attorney's office. Liberty Abstract has no out of office sales people. All payroll dollars go to service producing office professionals.

Liberty Abstract is open from 7am to 9pm est., and is independently owned and operated, so the only enticement is SERVICE !
